Windermere is a beautiful English Rose bred by David Austin.
It starts as a soft buttery yellow bud and opens into a fully cupped bloom that fades to creamy white in the sun. The shape is classic and romantic, with perfectly rounded petals and a strong fruity fragrance.
It’s a compact shrub, growing around 3 feet tall and wide, making it perfect for smaller gardens or containers.
Windermere thrives in zones 5 through 11, so it’s versatile across many climates — and in my Zone 10 garden, I’m giving it some afternoon shade to help it adjust.
If you love creamy white roses with fragrance and elegance, Windermere is a must-have.
I purchased Windermere in the beginning of June as a five gallon plant from Armstrong Nursery in honor of Taylor Swift buying back her Master’s! “Those Windermere Peaks look like the perfect place to cry”
